Job summary

GRCC is seeking a physics faculty member to teach freshman- and sophomore-level physics, focusing on introductory and algebra-based courses. The role emphasizes lab-based instruction, in-person delivery with selective hybrid courses, and active use of instrumentation in teaching laboratories.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Physics, or Master’s Degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate credits in Physics.
• Experience teaching physics at college/university level.
• Ph.D. in Physics or related field preferred.
• Experience with introductory labs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teach freshman- and sophomore-level physics with emphasis on introductory/algebra-based courses.
• Develop plans for instruction; include in-person and hybrid modalities.
• Incorporate instrumentation and maintain lab equipment in labs.
• Coordinate with adjunct faculty and lab staff.
• Develop high-impact teaching practices and advise students on STEM pathways.
• Participate in course/curriculum development, assessment, and transfers.
• Engage in departmental activities and GRCC service while upholding Faculty Contract.
