Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsement for grades 6–8; Math (EX) endorsement preferred.
  • Strong base in the subject area content and common core standards.
  • Ability to use assessments and student data to drive meaningful instruction.
  • Ability to develop and sustain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and district colleagues.
  • Willingness to contribute to a safe school climate with high expectations and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Teach STEM to 6–8 grade students at Portland Middle School.
  • Integrate technology into teaching and learning practices.
  • Use assessments and data to drive instruction and monitor progress.
  • Collaborate with building Principal, staff, and families.
  • Undertake extra‑curricular assignments as needed.
  • Contribute to a safe, respectful, high‑morale school culture.
