Job summary

Michelin's Woodburn, Indiana tire plant seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to provide mechanical technical support for maintaining machines and equipment in your area of responsibility. You will collaborate with methods and reliability teams, breakdown engineers, and maintenance crews to keep production running.

You will drive safety and quality compliance, optimize maintenance plans, monitor interventions for energy efficiency, and coach troubleshooters with standard problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to interact professionally with external partners, suppliers, customers, and colleagues at all levels.
• Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools; CAD experience preferred.
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, SolidEdge, AutoCAD).
• Experience using a CMMS for maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Attention to detail and data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance work complies with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Optimize maintenance plans for frequency, quality, and time spent.
• Monitor machine interventions to prevent breakdowns and keep production online.
• Improve breakdown and preventive stop times; support cycle time goals.
• Confirm efficiency of interventions, resources used, and energy efficiency of equipment.
• Support day-to-day shop operations.
• Apply Total Process Control (MTP) standards for maintenance procedures.
• Analyze equipment life for reliability, quality, and efficiency.
