Job summary

YORK CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Mathematics Teacher for grades 7-12. In this role, you will develop curriculum, create a safe learning environment, and assess student progress in mathematics. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree and a valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate, along with experience in teaching and tutoring. Additional certifications and clearances are required. This position offers the opportunity to influence students' understanding of mathematics and its practical applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum Level I Teaching Certificate issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
• Experience working with elementary age children and tutoring experience preferred.
• Act 34, Act 151 and FBI clearance required.
• Act 126 & Act 71 Training Certificates.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers mathematics curriculum consistent with district goals.
• Promotes a safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Designs learning activities to demonstrate real-life applications of mathematics.
• Conducts ongoing assessments of student learning and progress.
