Job summary

Oak Park & River Forest High School District 200 (OPRF) seeks a Mathematics (0.6) / Science (0.4) Teacher to join its Math and Science Division. The ideal candidate will plan student-centered lessons aligned to Common Core, co-teach with a Special Education educator in Physics-Chemistry, and foster inquiry-based learning.

The role emphasizes equity, collaboration, and rigorous, accessible instruction. 10-month calendar with a comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator’s License with Math and Science (Physics, Chemistry) endorsement.
• ESL and Computer Science endorsements preferred.
• Commitment to equity and creating an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and instruct students on district Mathematics curriculum aligned to the Common Core Standards.
• Develop lesson plans and goals that meet district expectations.
• Provide instruction incorporating the Common Core Eight Mathematical Practices.
• Collaborate in a Co-Taught Classroom with a Special Education co-teacher in Physics-Chemistry.
• Facilitate discourse-driven inquiry and student-led sense-making across readiness levels.
• Assess and track transferable skills using rubrics and data.
• Collaborate in Teacher Collaboration Teams to ensure rigorous, accessible science content across sections.
• Meet regularly with support staff to discuss individual student needs and interventions.
• Communicate progress with parents and students regarding achievement and growth.
