Job summary

Oak Park River Forest High School is seeking an innovative Math and Science educator to join the Math and Science Division. The teacher will plan and facilitate student-centered learning, emphasize practice-based mastery, and collaborate with a Special Education co-teacher to deliver an inclusive curriculum.

The role relies on teamwork within a Teacher Collaboration Team to ensure equitable, high-quality instruction.

Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator’s License with Math and Science endorsements.
  • ESL endorsement is preferred to support diverse learners.
  • Computer Science endorsement is a plus for integrating tech in instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and instruct students on district Mathematics curriculum aligned to the Common Core Standards.
  • Develop lesson plans and goals that meet district expectations.
  • Provide instruction incorporating the Common Core Eight Mathematical Practices.
  • Co-teach with a Special Education educator to deliver an inclusive curriculum.
  • Design inquiry-based learning experiences and lead student discourse.
  • Assess student progress and maintain records, using data to adjust instruction.
