Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas certificate for the subject and level assigned.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge and demonstrated competency in the subject(s) assigned.
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
• Openness to change and innovation to meet the needs of all students.
• At least one year student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Instructional strategies to promote student growth.
• Align teaching with District curriculum.
• Present material according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and use results to plan instruction.
• Collaborate with staff to modify curricula and instruction for special education, ELL, and GT.
• Work with campus and district instructional leaders to improve instruction.
• Offer accelerated instruction to at-risk students to perform well on state assessments.
• Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology as appropriate teaching and learning tools.
• Integrate technology into instruction.
