Job summary

HFCA’s Fifth Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in a culturally responsive and inclusive classroom. You will design meaningful lessons, differentiate to meet diverse learners’ needs, and foster student voice, growth, and academic achievement.

As part of HFCA, you will build strong relationships with students and families, use data to drive instruction, and participate in professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or in a subject-specific field relevant to the teaching assignment.
• Valid Wisconsin teaching license or ability to obtain certification within required timelines.
• Experience teaching in K–12 with diverse learners.
• Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning tools.
• Ability to hold weekly office hours to provide academic support.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that is engaging, culturally responsive, and accessible to all learners.
• Design and implement lesson plans with differentiation, higher-order thinking, and opportunities for student voice and ownership.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student learning, adjust instruction, and support mastery of key skills.
• Integrate technology, projects, and real-world applications to deepen understanding and build student agency.
• Maintain a classroom environment that is structured, inclusive, and supportive of high expectations for behavior and academic performance.
• Build strong, positive relationships with students to support their academic progress, sense of belonging, and overall well-being.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback that helps students reflect, revise, and take ownership of their learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues, instructional teams, and administrators to ensure alignment and improve outcomes.
• Support extracurricular events and community-building activities that strengthen scholar engagement and belonging.
