Job summary

Montgomery-Public-Schools in Alabama seeks an English Language Arts Teacher for a nine-month instructional term. The role reports to the Principal and focuses on delivering standards-aligned ELA instruction using the required course of study, resources, and research-based practices.

Responsibilities include leveraging technology to plan, deliver, and assess student learning; differentiating for diverse learners; participating in testing; and contributing to school-wide improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• A valid Alabama Teacher's Certificate.
• Must meet Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements or a willingness to meet the requirements.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technology to plan and provide instruction and facilitate student learning.
• Model appropriate and innovative use of technology for students
• Facilitate and monitor the integration of technology in the classroom
• Provide modifications for students with special needs, including ELL and exceptional education students
• Select, develop, modify and/or adapt materials and resources which support learning objectives
• Establish routines and uses appropriate behavior management procedures
• Participate in administration of local and state testing as assigned
• Use formative and summative assessment to monitor student progress; interprets and uses data for instructional planning and program evaluation
• Communicate high learning expectations for all students and establishes learning targets
• Engage in personal professional growth and adhere to professional standards
