Qualifications

• Master’s degree in child development, human development, early childhood education, or a closely related field (extension educator).
• Bachelor’s degree in child development, human development, early childhood education, or a closely related field (extension instructor). If hired as an instructor, progress toward a master’s degree is expected.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate information to various audiences.
• Experience teaching in formal or non-formal education settings (preschool, K-12).

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers proactive, innovative educational programs and products with significant reach and impact.
• Establishes and sustains a local and regional clientele and programming portfolio.
• Uses innovative strategies and technologies to design, develop, implement, and assess Extension education programs.
• Collaborates with Extension specialists and researchers to translate research into engaging programs.
• Participates in teams with educators, specialists, and community leaders to address needs and priorities.
• Completes PEARS data entry and reports per annual requirements.
