Job summary

Shurtape Technologies, LLC seeks an Analytical Chemist to perform analytical testing and material characterization for PSA tape products. This role supports R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and technical service with a wide range of instruments and techniques.

The candidate will translate data into scientific insights, contribute to new product development, and collaborate with chemists and engineers to improve processes and product performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemistry/Polymer Science or related field with 3–5 years of industrial experience.
• Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles and instrumentation.
• Experience with chromatography, spectroscopy, thermal analysis, and rheological methods.
• Proficient in data analysis and MS Excel; familiar with LIMS and documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical and physical analyses of adhesives, coatings, backings, and materials.
• Prepare laboratory samples using extraction, purification, and prep techniques.
• Conduct material characterization using GC/MS, HPLC, GPC, FTIR, UV-Vis, XRF, DSC, TGA.
• Analyze data and communicate findings to project teams and management.
• Support new product development and benchmarking activities.
• Collaborate with formulation chemists and engineers on adhesive projects.
• Maintain instrument calibration and laboratory records.
