Job summary

The Freudenberg Group in Wolfratshausen, Germany, invites applications for a Scientific Innovator – AI-Driven Engineering (f/m/d). You will scout AI technologies, design automation and simulation, and develop prototypes and PoCs, including neural networks and surrogate models, to support digital twin and predictive maintenance.

You will work with global teams, transfer research into scalable engineering solutions, and contribute to knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in engineering, computational sciences, physics, materials, or related fields.
• Experience in applied research or industrial development.
• Strong programming skills in Python; experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow; familiarity with GenAI tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Scout emerging technologies in AI, design automation, mechanical engineering, and simulation.
• Develop prototypes and PoCs (e.g. neural networks, surrogate models, agentic workflows).
• Develop AI-driven models for condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and lifecycle optimization by integrating sensor data and simulation results.
