Job summary

Sabert Corporation seeks a Research & Development Lab Technician to support material testing, characterization, process development, and product evaluation in the R&D materials lab. Qualifications include an associate’s degree and 3+ years in a lab setting, with experience in mechanical, thermal, and analytical testing. Proficiency with Instron, DSC, TGA, and FTIR is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience in materials testing or laboratory environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of laboratory concepts, safe chemical/material handling requirements.
• Experience with mechanical, thermal, physical, and analytical testing methods; familiarity with Instron, DSC, TGA, FTIR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine material testing using established laboratory procedures and ASTM methods.
• Prepare material and packaging samples for tests including plastic- and paper-based packaging.
• Conduct physical, mechanical, thermal, and performance testing to support product development and quality.
• Operate and support testing equipment such as Instron, DSC, TGA, FTIR.
• Document experiments and results with traceability in notebooks or data systems.
• Assist scientists and engineers with new product development and process improvements.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, chemicals, and work areas in a safe condition.
• Follow safety procedures and support continuous improvement of lab practices.
