Job Description

The Innovation Lab Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of our newly installed Innovation Lab, both the program implementation and physical space. The Academy sees the Innovation Lab as a collaborative space designed to foster creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking among students.

The Innovation Lab Coordinator will develop and implement lesson plans and activities that encourage hands-on learning and experimentation, as well as collaborate with teachers to integrate the lab’s resources into their curriculum.

  • Start Date: September 1, 2025

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Innovation Lab’s physical space to oversee the maintenance of the equipment and ensure that the space is clean, organized, and stocked with the necessary materials and supplies.
  • Provide comprehensive safety instruction, hands-on demonstrations, and guided practice on each piece of equipment to train students and employees to use it in the Innovation Lab.
  • Design and teach engaging Middle and Upper School STEAM courses that utilize the Innovation Lab’s resources and promote critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration among students.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects and lessons, integrating the Innovation Lab’s resources into their curriculum.
  • Seek professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in digital fabrication, STEAM education, and educational technology.

Qualifications

  • B.A./B.S. degree in related fields; Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience working in an educational or innovation-focused environment, with a strong understanding of design thinking, project-based learning, and STEAM education principles
  • Experience with robotics and digital fabrication technologies that includes using digital design software, laser cutting and engraving, 3D printing and scanning, or other related technologies
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a new, dynamic, and growing environment
