Job summary

Lumina Foundation is seeking a Strategy Officer in Washington, DC. The role sits in the Innovation and Discovery department and reports to the Strategy Director.

The Officer will manage grants and contracts, incubate new ideas, and collaborate across Lumina to advance postsecondary attainment with a focus on racial equity. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree and at least three years in related sectors, with strong strategic, analytical, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent mix of experience and expertise.
• At least three (3) years of experience in higher education, democracy, community building, climate/sustainability, nonprofit, public, or philanthropic sectors.
• Knowledge of the current higher education landscape and credential attainment efforts.
• Demonstrated success in influencing, affecting, and implementing change.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage an assigned grants/contracts portfolio through the lifecycle.
• Collaborate with the Director to support, enhance, or pivot strategy.
• Coordinate with internal/external partners to inform portfolio development.
• Synthesize information across sources and convey insights to leadership.
