Remote, with a requirement to reside within 30 miles of one of the following locations: Portland, ME; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Washington, DC; Dallas, TX; or San Jose, CA.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of AI/ML models and algorithms to drive innovation across various industries, including fleet & EV, Health Benefits, and Corporate Payments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize impactful use cases for AI/ML applications.
  • Participate in rapid prototyping efforts, focusing on learning from experiments and iterating on solutions to identify the most effective approaches.
  • Demonstrate creative thinking to develop innovative AI/ML solutions.
  • Assist in embedding AI/ML models into web and mobile applications.
  • Contribute to the development of solutions leveraging large language models and other advanced AI techniques to tackle complex problems, such as natural language understanding, text generation, and knowledge representation.
  • Conduct data analysis and feature engineering to extract valuable insights and improve model performance.
  • Collaborate with our AI platform team to design, develop, and deploy scalable and robust AI/ML solutions to solve business problems and improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and optimize AI/ML models to ensure their accuracy, reliability, and performance in production environments.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI/ML technologies and apply them to drive innovation.
  • Actively participate in knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team.

Experience You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 2+ years of experience in developing and deploying AI/ML models in a production environment.
  • Expertise in machine learning algorithms, deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), and statistical modeling techniques.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Google BigQuery) and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to develop innovative AI/ML solutions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering AI/ML projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to persevere and maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenges.
  • Experience with embedding AI/ML models into web and mobile applications is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the latest AI capabilities and advancements, including large language models and generative AI, is a plus.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
