Join Our Growing Team as an Innovation Analyst with a focus on venture opportunities.

At FM, our Innovation team creates next-generation risk management solutions for client and business challenges, collaborating with FM Investments to target strategic venture opportunities. We explore and invest in emerging technologies to help clients build resilience, engaging with stakeholders to accelerate adoption. We seek a dynamic Innovation Analyst experienced in technical due diligence of venture research, focusing on market research across the start-up ecosystem, opportunity identification, feasibility analysis, and strategic planning to support FM’s venturing strategy and solution development.

• Identify and nurture high-potential ventures, contributing to FM’s innovation roadmap and client resilience.
• Gain experience in various venture models (Venture Capital, Venture Client, Product Incubator) with strategic and technical depth.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to gain insights into due diligence, deal execution, and scaling of sustainable businesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and share industry signals, insights, and emerging trends with FM stakeholders.
• Research current/emerging technologies for solutions to business challenges and opportunities.
• Lead technical due diligence on venture investments across sectors like climate, AI, and deep tech, analyzing operational and commercial factors, and prepare recommendations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with SMEs, stakeholders, and clients.
• Leverage tools like Pitchbook and AI analytics to track market trends and identify opportunities.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to manage timelines and approvals, often leading initiatives.
• Support venture models such as Venture Capital, Venture Client, and Incubator, shaping investment and partnership strategies.
• Prepare data-driven presentations and reports for investment committees and leadership, maintaining clear technology and business roadmaps.
• Requirements include a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred), minimum two years in VC, PE, CVC, Investment Banking, or Corporate Development, and proficiency in data tools like Pitchbook.
• Strong project management, interpersonal skills, and ability to balance technical, commercial, and strategic considerations are essential.
• Experience with property insurance and risk management is a plus but not mandatory.

Location and Additional Details

This role is based at our Innovation office at 500 Exchange Street, Providence, RI, through May 2026, then relocates to Norwood, MA.

Depending on experience, candidates may be considered for an Innovation Analyst or Sr. Innovation Analyst role.
