Job summary

Axle, a bioscience and information technology company, seeks a Biologist to support the National Institutes of Health at NIDCD in Bethesda, MD.

The role involves designing and executing lab experiments, handling transgenic mice, and analyzing microscopy data, with a Master’s degree required.

Experience with confocal microscopy and computational analysis preferred; salary range is listed below.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Familiarity with confocal microscopy preferred.
  • Experience with transgenic mice and mouse colony management.
  • Experience with computational analysis of microscopy data.
  • Experience with sample preparation for confocal microscopy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sample preparation for studies of rodent inner ear cellular biology.
  • Collect and analyze biological data about relationships among and between organisms and their environment.
  • Operate laboratory equipment to analyze samples.
  • Analyze laboratory findings.
  • Program and use computers to store, process, and analyze data.
  • Provides technical experience needed to assist in studying basic principles of plant and animal life.
  • Assists with performing basic laboratory experiments and procedures.
  • Prepares, organizes and maintains various lab samples, supplies, and equipment.
  • Learns new laboratory techniques and procedures.
