Job DescriptionJob SummaryFood Runners assist servers and supervisors and kitchen staff in providing quality food and beverage service to guests courteously and efficiently. Staff will primarily help with pulling, and organizing orders, traying up, and/or delivering food to guests. Other duties will include general support for servers, hosts, supervisors, and/or bartenders when needed; stocking and maintaining condiments and other items that may be requested by guests; and the cleanliness of the dining room, side stations, kitchen service areas, dish breakdown area and service equipment.Flex: A position working 20-29 hours per week (between 1,000 and 1,559 hours per year)Schedule varies, but is typically 6am-12:30pm. Weekend and holiday availability required.Essential Job Duties1. To deliver the correct food items promptly and accurately to the appropriate guests.2. To offer appropriate condiments table side with courses, ie: fresh ground pepper.3. Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly and maintain positive guest relations at all times.4. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.5. To communicate any requests obtained from guests to their server, kitchen staff and/or bartender.6. Maintain knowledge of table and seat numbers, section assignments, proper table set-up, hours of operation and dress code of the restaurant.7. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all service and kitchen procedures, sanitation and food safety regulations, established standards, company and departmental policies and procedures.8. Be familiar with Biltmore services, features, activities and special events in order to respond to guest inquiries accurately.9. Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by Biltmore and state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, etc.Additional Responsibilities1. Side-work: Ensure a sufficient supply of clean trays. Assist in folding napkins. Set up tray jacks in appropriate areas. Assist servers, DRAs and bartenders with any additional side work, removal of soiled trays, glassware, dishes and flatware from the floor as needed.2. Closing duties: Properly breakdown and store all reusable goods and servicewares per department standards. Clean all equipment, work areas, side stations. Restock items for next service.3. Provide general support and assistance to the department, leadership, and company as required.Qualifications1. Previous guest/customer service experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have knowledge or and/or prior experience working in a full-service restaurant.2. Commitment to delivering world class guest service and the ability to work successfully as part of a dynamic, guest-service oriented team.3. Lift, carry, push and pull 25–50 pounds; lift and carry 25-50 pounds on a large serving tray, above shoulder level, with one hand.2. Endure various physical movements (stand/walk, kneel, stoop, bend, reach overhead) throughout work areas and over duration of work shift.3. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.4.
