Job summary

Quality Correctional Health Care is seeking a part-time Mental Health Professional to interview inmates on suicide watch, assess risk, and triage mental health requests within Walker County facilities. The role involves providing therapeutic interventions, coordinating with medical and correctional staff, developing treatment plans, and ensuring timely documentation and emergency responsiveness.

Eligible candidates hold a Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work with a current license;

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Counseling, Social Work or related field.
• Current, valid license in field.
• Maintains firm boundaries in therapeutic relationships.
• Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients.
• Maintains annual continuing education requirements.
• Able to utilize a teamwork approach.

Responsibilities

• Interview inmates on suicide watch and assess risk.
• Coordinate with medical and correctional staff to provide care.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor progress.
• Keep accurate, up-to-date documentation.
• Respond promptly in emergencies.
• Refer to attending physician when appropriate.
• Incorporate discharge planning and referrals.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.
