Riverside Regional Jail in Virginia seeks an Inmate Activities Coordinator to lead the facility's recreational program. The role schedules, coordinates and supervises activities for inmates, adhering to policy and procedure. The position may require evenings, weekends and holidays, along with other duties as needed.
Education required is a Bachelor's in Recreation and Physical Education, or an equivalent mix of education and experience. Prior correctional experience is preferred.
The Inmate Activities Coordinator is responsible for the overall recreational program for inmates within the facility. The employee will schedule, coordinate and supervise recreational activities for the inmate population. Work will be performed in accordance with established policy and procedure. Incumbent may be required to work irregular hours to include evenings, weekends and holidays. Employees in this position will be required to perform other duties as required.
Bachelors Degree with major course work in Recreation and Physical Education from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education, relevant experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work. Prior experience in a correctional environment is preferred.
