Join Image Technology, a leader in the field of printing and textile innovations. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Inkjet Chemist to contribute to our groundbreaking work in digital textile printing.

Role:

This opportunity at Image Technology is for a seasoned Inkjet Coatings Chemist, specializing in the creation of innovative printing ink systems tailored for digital textile applications. The role involves the design and development of digital ink chemistries, formulations, and treatments to craft advanced solutions for textile printing across a variety of printing platforms. Candidates must possess extensive experience in textile ink chemistry, including expertise in textile chemicals, coatings, dyeing, finishing, and/or process development within the textile manufacturing industry. A focus on digital printing will be considered an advantageous specialization.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Advanced degree in Polymer, Organic, Chemical Engineering or Materials Chemistry/Engineering with a specialization in polymer, surface, or textile chemistry.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of industrial experience in textile field, particularly in textile treatments, chemistries, colorants, and printing.

Skills:

  • Proven ability in problem-solving, scientific analysis, and project completion.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in R&D settings, project management, and technical leadership.
  • Knowledge in colloidal systems, pigment dispersions, dispersants, ink formulation, especially inkjet inks.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop digital ink chemistries, formulations, and treatments for various textile printing platforms.
  • Leverage experience in textile ink chemistry (chemicals, coatings, dyeing, finishing) for digital printing solutions.
  • Collaborate with experts in engineering, ink, coatings, and formulation chemistry, including technology vendors, to develop novel chemistries.
  • Work with technology licensees or vendors to implement solutions on manufacturing assets.
  • Translate market requirements for textile printing into technical deliverables.
  • Develop and execute technical plans with major deliverables.
  • Innovate new treatment and ink technologies for digital textile printing.
  • Utilize personal creativity for new product solutions.
  • Implement and understand industrial testing methodologies for textile materials.
  • Collaborate with chemical suppliers for material development.
  • Document, summarize, and communicate results effectively.
  • Apply knowledge of natural and synthetic fiber chemistries to improve image quality, durability, and feel of printed fabric.
  • Coordinate with printer partners and development teams for testing protocols and materials.
