Job summary

Fortis Solutions Group in Novi, MI is seeking an experienced ink technician to support flexographic press operators in the print production environment. You will be responsible for procurement, creation and maintenance of inks, coatings, and varnishes, and for labeling containers and stocking related consumables.

You will dispense and certify inks for all jobs, follow SOPs to meet quality standards, stage inks ahead of each job, manage inventory, maintain the GCMS library, and assist production

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred.
• At least 2 years similar experience in printing environment.

Responsibilities

• Dispense and certify inks required for all jobs in production.
• Follow SOPs to ensure ink meets quality standards.
• Stage all inks and maintain ink levels at each press in advance of each job.
• Order and maintain inventory levels for all required consumables including specialized inks.
• Maintain ink area in clean working order; maintain GCMS library for color standards.
• Process ink returns and recertify to standards prior to putting on the shelf.
• Assist production operators in troubleshooting ink related issues on press.
• Coordinate with Pre-Press for new orders or specialized color or applications.
• Follow all procedures and work rules; perform additional duties as required.
