Summary or Scope:

The Process Technician role requires knowledge of the IP, Encapsulation, and Separation phases of Ink Microcapsule production, as well as pigment manufacturing processes like Reaction, Drying, and Dispersion. The technician performs multiple chemical processes within the ink microcapsule and engineered pigment manufacturing flow, supporting operations such as handling, mixing, packaging chemicals, and operating processing and packaging equipment using HMI controls. The technician will receive training and certification in all ink and pigment manufacturing processes, which may include wastewater treatment (requiring outside agency licensing), hoist and industrial truck operation, and respirator fit testing.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Execute batch processes for ink and pigment manufacturing according to SOPs.
  • Perform tasks safely, efficiently, and effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Understand batch sheets, HMI, and electronic equipment required for operations.
  • Complete tasks systematically, handle issues as they arise, and adapt to changes.
  • Ensure quality and productivity standards are met.
  • Monitor labor and task efficiency metrics.
  • Wear appropriate PPE, including fire-resistant clothing, steel-toed shoes, nitrile gloves, and respirators.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma with 2-3 years of manufacturing process experience; equivalent or transferable experience in chemical manufacturing can be substituted.

Required skills, knowledge, and abilities:

  • Strong communication skills (written and oral).
  • Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to prioritize, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated and flexible to adapt to changing conditions.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Ability to lift and maneuver 50-pound, 5-gallon buckets.
  • Ability to stand for long hours.
  • Flexibility to support early starts, evening overtime, and weekend shifts.
  • Willingness to wear PPE as required.
