Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field.
  • Certification as an Athletic Trainer or licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, and adapts injury prevention assessments and reconditioning programs for personnel.
  • Develops and maintains an organized database of assessment resources and educational materials.
  • Trains personnel in evidence-based reconditioning and recovery skills to reduce injury risk.
  • Coordinates with human performance and medical personnel for reconditioning programs for personnel returning from injury.
  • Coaches and mentors staff through technical guidance and hands-on injury-risk assessment training.
  • Records injuries, prevention plans, and related information in the unit system of records.
  • Maintains records in accordance with AR 25-50, Privacy Act, and TARC policies.

JOB SUMMARY

The Injury Prevention Specialist supports the Herbert R. Temple Readiness Center (TARC) by developing and delivering evidence-based injury prevention assessments, reconditioning programs, recovery education, and return-to-duty support. The position coordinates with human performance and unit medical personnel, trains and mentors TARC staff, and maintains accurate injury-related records. This work helps reduce musculoskeletal injury risk, strengthens readiness, and supports Soldiers returning from injury.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Designs, implements, and adapts multi-level injury prevention assessments and reconditioning programs for TARC personnel across low- to high-risk populations.
  • Develops and maintains an organized database of assessment resources, recovery techniques, rehabilitation guides, and related educational materials.
  • Trains TARC personnel in evidence-based reconditioning and recovery skills to reduce musculoskeletal injury (MSKI) risk and improve return-to-duty outcomes.
  • Coordinates with the human performance team and unit medical personnel to develop and oversee reconditioning programs for Soldiers returning from injury.
  • Coaches and mentors unit Holistic Health and Fitness Integrators (H2F-Is) and medical personnel through technical guidance and hands‑on injury‑risk assessment training.
  • Records personnel injuries, injury prevention plans, recommended courses of action, and related information in the TARC system of records.
  • Performs routine record maintenance in accordance with Army Regulation (AR) 25-50, the Privacy Act, and TARC policies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
  • Certification as an Athletic Trainer or licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Active Secret Clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Kinesiology, or a closely related field.
