Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an experienced Injury Prevention Specialist to support systemwide injury reduction programs across all locations. The role focuses on reducing employee injury risk through program implementation, field support, training, and process improvements that address high-risk activities and regulatory requirements.

This hands-on position requires strong field presence, collaboration with frontline staff, and the ability to translate requirements into practical workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in health/safety field.
• 5+ years of experience in injury prevention or healthcare safety.
• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification.
• CHSP certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support systemwide injury prevention programs across UC San Diego Health locations.
• Provide field support, training, and process improvements for safe work practices.
• Conduct rounding, observations, and identify injury risks to drive corrective actions.
• Assist with program rollouts, equipment changes, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with frontline staff and departments across sites.
