Position
Injection Operator – Nights
Injection Operator performs a variety of tasks requiring knowledge of injection processes and is responsible for day‑to‑day operations associated with an array of PET and HDPE injection equipment and its auxiliary equipment. (Niagara purchases primarily Husky, but also other OEMs).
Essential Functions
- Responsible for overall preparation, set‑up, starting and running injection equipment.
- Perform minor adjustments to injection equipment as directed; no mechanical work without prior approval.
- Accurately complete and update forms and logs such as injection preform, cap daily log, destruction logs and quality forms.
- Recognize unsafe conditions and actions, follow plant safety rules, including safe lifting practices and safe machine operations; use PPE where required.
- Perform visual and mechanical quality checks to ensure production meets quality standards.
- Maintain general housekeeping in all production areas, including break rooms and rest rooms.
- Identify the difference between Vpet, Rpet & HDPE resins and parts safe for grinding and reintroduction to the resin system.
- Accurately fill inspection sheets based on overall production quality; recognize and report all quality defects immediately.
- Work in multiple areas of production with minimal supervision; provide relief duties when required.
- Troubleshoot minor production equipment issues and collaborate with maintenance as necessary.
- Use computer systems such as Shotscope, Electirc80, Ignition and others.
- Understand line flow and manufacturing process to maximize throughput.
- Communicate issues clearly and concisely.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work 12‑hour shifts, day or night, on a rotating 2‑2‑3 schedule.

Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
- 2 years of experience in a similar position.
- Experience operating multiple manufacturing machines.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- 4 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
- 4 years of experience in a similar position.
- 2 years of experience managing people or projects.

Education
- Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED.
