Job summary

Niagara Bottling, LLC is seeking an Injection Operator to join our production team. The role involves preparing, setting up, and running injection equipment, performing quality checks, and maintaining logs.

The position requires the ability to work across multiple production areas with minimal supervision and to operate on a 12-hour day/night rotating schedule. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of manufacturing experience and experience operating multiple machines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in field or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in position.
  • Experience operating multiple manufacturing machines.
  • 4 years experience in field or similar manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • 4 years experience working in position (preferred).
  • 2 years experience managing people/projects (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, set up, start and run injection equipment.
  • Perform minor adjustments to injection equipment with prior approval.
  • Accurately complete and update logs and forms (e.g., injection preform/cap logs, destruction logs, quality forms).
  • Recognize unsafe conditions and follow plant safety rules including PPE usage.
  • Perform visual and mechanical quality checks to ensure production meets standards.
  • Maintain housekeeping in all production areas and rest rooms.
  • Define resin types (V PET, RPET, HDPE) and identify parts safe for grinding and reintroduction to resin system.
  • Fill inspection sheets and report quality defects accurately.
  • Work in multiple production areas with minimal supervision; perform relief duties when required.
  • Troubleshoot minor production equipment issues and coordinate with maintenance.
  • Understand computer systems such as Shotscope, Electric80, Ignition.
  • Understand line flow and manufacturing processes to maximize throughput.
  • Communicate issues clearly and concisely.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
  • Work 12-hour shifts day or night on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule.

Injection OperatorInjection Operator performs a variety of tasks requiring knowledge of injection processes and responsible for day-to-day operations associated an array of PET and HDPE injection equipment and its auxiliary equipment. (Niagara purchases primarily Husky, but also other OEMs).

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for overall preparation, set-up, starting and running injection equipment.
  • Ability to perform minor adjustments to injection equipment as directed. No mechanical work is to be performed without prior approval.
  • Responsible for accurately completing and updating information forms and logs such as Injection preform and/or cap daily log, destruction logs and quality forms.
  • Ability to recognize unsafe conditions and actions and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices and safe machine operations. Personal protective equipment is to be used where required.
  • Performs visual and mechanical quality checks to ensure production meets quality standards.
  • Housekeeping: maintain general housekeeping in all areas of production, including the break rooms and rest rooms.
  • Raw materials: Be able to define the difference between Vpet, Rpet & HDPE resins. Ability to identify parts safe for grinding and reintroduction to the resin system.
  • Maintain quality requirements in accordance with company standards; accurately filling out inspection sheets based on overall production quality. Responsible for recognizing and reporting all quality defects immediately.
  • Ability to work in multiple areas of production with minimal supervision; perform relief duties when required
