Injection Operator Lead

Injection Operator performs a variety of tasks requiring knowledge of injection processes and is responsible for day-to-day operations associated with an array of PET and HDPE injection equipment and its auxiliary equipment. (Niagara purchases primarily Husky, but also other OEMs).

Essential Functions
  1. Responsible for overall preparation, set-up, starting, and running injection equipment.
  2. Ability to perform minor adjustments to injection equipment as directed. No mechanical work is to be performed without prior approval.
  3. Responsible for accurately completing and updating information forms and logs such as Injection preform and/or cap daily log, destruction logs, and quality forms.
  4. Ability to recognize unsafe conditions and actions and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices and safe machine operations. Personal protective equipment is to be used where required.
  5. Performs visual and mechanical quality checks to ensure production meets quality standards.
  6. Maintain general housekeeping in all areas of production, including break rooms and restrooms.
  7. Be able to define the difference between Vpet, Rpet & HDPE resins and identify parts safe for grinding and reintroduction to the resin system.
  8. Maintain quality requirements in accordance with company standards; accurately fill out inspection sheets based on overall production quality. Responsible for recognizing and reporting all quality defects immediately.
  9. Work in multiple areas of production with minimal supervision; perform relief duties when required.
  10. Troubleshoot minor production equipment issues and collaborate with maintenance as necessary.
  11. Understand computer systems such as Shotscope, Electirc80, Ignition, and others.
  12. Understand line flow and manufacturing processes to maximize throughput.
  13. Communicate issues clearly and concisely.
  14. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  15. Work 12-hour shifts, day or night, on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or similar field.
  • 2 years of experience in the specific position.
  • Experience operating multiple manufacturing machines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or similar field.
  • 4 years of experience working in the position.
  • 2 years managing people or projects.
