Job Description

General Summary

This position works under minimal supervision and is responsible for operating one or more of the Injection Molding Production Lines as assigned for that shift.

Duties and Responsibilities (essential duties are italicized)

  1. Production line operation
  2. a. Pulls work orders at the beginning of the shift and throughout the shift as needed.
  3. b. Verifies work order labels and data, ensuring accuracy prior to starting production.
  4. c. Inspects product type, label, and molding uniformity.
  5. d. Loads appropriate label file.
  6. e. Runs production equipment at standard rates set by the company.
  7. f. Begins production run, per work order.
  8. g. Comfortable using a weight scale for accuracy.
  9. h. Prints and labels boxes.
  10. i. Pulls flattened case boxes and assembles enough of them for that shift.
  11. j. Prints and labels cases.
  12. k. Performs final assembly and/or packaging of molded parts.
  13. l. Records production run data on work order and in ERP System (EPICOR).
  14. m. Stops machine at the end of the run.
  15. n. Cleans and maintains production machines and work areas.

2. Performs basic troubleshooting on machines, resolving basic problems as trained.

3. Escalates machine problems to the Maintenance Team and/or Lead as required.

4. Performs in a manner consistent with company Core Values and Purpose.

5. Attends all scheduled meetings, missing no more than 10% annually.

6. Clocks in and out for work and lunch with no more than 1 error per month.

7. Provides excellent customer service.

8. Follows all OSHA and other safety guidelines.

9. Actively demonstrates teamwork at all times.

10. Manages any stress on the job, including but not limited to meeting deadlines.

11. Adheres to company safety standards at all times, such that no serious (requiring medical attention) injury occurred during the prior 12-month period.

12. Follows other policies and procedures such that there are no verbal or written warnings during the evaluation period.

13. Is comfortable working around automated machinery.

The duties described above are not inclusive. Additional duties may be permanently assigned or required from time to time due to the need to respond to customer needs and remain competitive in the marketplace.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Basic computer usage including mouse.
  • Ability to learn label printing software.
  • Basic understanding of English to read work orders and write information.
  • Mechanical aptitude to perform setup, daily start-up, tuning, minor repair of filling and packaging equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and maintenance manuals.
  • Ability to perform basic addition and subtraction.
  • Ability to use logic to troubleshoot production machine issues.
  • Ability to visually inspect required coding, product labeling, and finished goods to identify defects and to match products with the appropriate packaging.
  • Ability to develop thorough understanding of operational procedures to practice safe manufacturing.
  • Ability to manage stress.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including sitting, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, and walking for extended periods on a concrete floor, and occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds.
  • The position spends approximately 5% of time sitting at a workstation and 95% standing or walking.
  • Vision must be within or correctable to within normal range.
  • Must work from the Arlington, TX facility and be able to work on time during scheduled shifts. Must be available for evening/weekend work as needed.
  • While performing duties, the employee is exposed to production equipment and moderate noise levels.

Work Environment

Characteristics are representative of the environment that must be met to perform essential functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. The employee is occasionally exposed to chemicals and machinery, with a moderately high noise level.

Position starts at $18.00-$18.50 per hour depending on experience. Hours are 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
