Ensinger Precision Components, Inc. is seeking an Injection Molding Process Technician (Troubleshooter) on 2nd or 3rd shift to optimize and maintain plastics injection molding processes, ensuring high-quality production and minimal downtime.

You will diagnose issues, adjust process parameters with PLCs, perform quality inspections with calipers and micrometers, read blueprints, and support lean initiatives to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in plastics injection molding processes with understanding of polymers and their behavior under heat/speed/pressure.
• Mechanical knowledge operating and troubleshooting injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Proficient with PLCs for process control adjustments.
• Ability to perform precision measurements with calipers and micrometers for quality control.
• Strong problem-solving skills focused on engineering troubleshooting and equipment diagnostics.
• Read and interpret blueprints and product specifications.

Duties

• Comply with safety rules, regulations and protocols. Perform all duties in a safe efficient manner
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to plastics injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, analyzing mechanical, electric and hydraulic systems to correct processes as required.
• Monitor machines, making adjustments to process parameters using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimize cycle times, part quality, and machine performance.
• Conduct quality inspections utilizing precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other measurement instruments to ensure parts meet specifications
• Perform shut down process of injection molding machine and purge of material

Qualifications

• Proven experience, at least 3 years in plastics injection molding processes with a strong understanding of high-performance polymers and their reactivity to heats, speed, and pressure.
• Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting industrial equipment such as injection molding machines, oil heaters, water chiller, etc.
• Proficient with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for process control adjustments
• Ability to perform precision measurement using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement instruments for quality control purposes
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on engineering troubleshooting and equipment diagnostics
• Reading and comprehension of blueprints, product specifications to interpret and communicate information
• Accurately apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish face, and use judgement to draw valid conclusions.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles to enhance operational efficiency
• Requires light physical demand in walking, bending, reaching and moving of equipment and materials, exerting up to 25 pounds of force.
• Ability to work safely with hand tools and industrial equipment while adhering to safety protocols
