Job summary

Beckman Coulter Life Sciences in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Process Technician to support plastics manufacturing operations on-site. You will perform mold set-ups, troubleshoot issues, and drive corrective and preventive actions within a fast-paced environment.

The role reports to the Process Engineering Technician Supervisor as part of the Plastics Manufacturing Engineering Team. AA Degree with 1+ years experience and ability to use hand/power tools and precision instruments are required.

Qualifications

  • AA Degree with 1+ years exp.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, multimeter, tensiometer, and precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn; good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Perform process troubleshooting and mold and cell set-up tasks on injection and blow molding machines and related equipment.
  • Handle set-ups and corrective/preventive tasks across various machines and plastics processing equipment.
  • Collaborate with machine operators, process technicians, supervisors and maintenance staff.

The Process Technician is responsible for supporting the operations teams by performing mold set‑ups, troubleshooting, corrective, and preventive processing issues on plastics manufacturing machinery. This role is ideal for individuals continuing a career in set‑up processing technician and are looking to develop their skills in a fast‑paced, complex plastics production environment.

This position reports to the Process Engineering Technician Supervisor and is part of the Plastics Manufacturing Engineering Team located in Indianapolis, IN and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Perform process troubleshooting, mold and cell set up set‑ups corrective, preventive tasks on injection molding machines, blow molding machines, automation handling equipment, temperature control units, mold controllers, material loaders, resin dryers, air compressors, chillers, and other plastics processing and support equipment.
  • Process, Mold, EOAT, cell set‑ups tasks performed independently and include different types of injection molding machines and injection blow molding machines. Troubleshooting and corrective tasks involve responding to unplanned downtime events, communicating with operations and perform set‑ups, processing issues of various complex types of molds, machines.
  • Work closely with machine operators, process technicians, supervisors and maintenance staff.
The essential requirements of the job include:
  • AA Degree with 1+ years exp.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, multimeter, tensiometer, and precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc..)
  • Strong problemsolving skills and willingness to learn. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
