Job summary

AtWork Personnel Kalamazoo is seeking a Process Technician experienced in plastic injection molding to set up machines for new job runs and manage quality, production process, and operation of presses. This role oversees team members, materials, equipment, and admin tasks on the 2nd shift (2:45pm-11pm, Mon-Fri).

The ideal candidate has plastics experience, and experience with changeovers; training on 1st shift is provided. This is a direct hire with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Prior plastics experience.
• Process technician experience preferred; job changeover experience a must.
• Supervisor experience preferred; training provided for right candidate.
• Must complete injection molding progressive training.
• Must have mechanical aptitude.
• Strong people skills required.

Responsibilities

• Work with indirect staff to meet day-to-day production needs.
• Review production jobs against safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards.
• Ensure quality by enforcing company standards.
• Evaluate equipment and direct repairs; analyze production reports.
• Use injection molding techniques to solve current production problems.
• Oversee presses, personnel, equipment, and materials.

Job description:

We are looking for aProcess Technician who has experience in plastic injection molding and setting up machines for new job runs.

This person will be responsible for the quality, production process, and operation of the assigned presses. Oversees the assigned personnel, materials, equipment, and administration functions.

2nd shift 2:45pm-11pm Monday through Friday. (train on 1st shift for 4-6 weeks 6:45am-3pm Monday through Friday)

Duties at a glance:

• Work with the indirect support staff to maintain the day-to-day production requirements. At times, provide direction to QC Auditors, members of the Materials group, and Maintenance Technicians.
• Review the production jobs against standards of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Ensure quality products by establishing and enforcing company standards.
• Evaluation of equipment and direction of repairs when needed. Evaluating and reporting production information by analyzing production reports.
• Utilize Scientific Injection Molding technology to problem solve current production problems.
• Complete process and set-up sheets. Oversee assigned presses, personnel, equipment, and materials.

Qualifications:

• Prior Plastics experience required.
• Process Technician experience preferred- job changeover experience a must.
• Supervisor experience preferred, will provide training for the right candidate
• Must be able to go through the required Injection Molding progressive training.
• Must have mechanical aptitude
• Strong people skills is required
