Job summary

Protolabs is hiring a Mold Process Technician to set up and optimize injection molding processes, ensuring high-quality parts and efficient production. You will work with UR robots and operate forklifts, focusing on process stability, waste reduction, and safety compliance.

The role requires a technical degree or relevant experience and hands-on skills in mold setup, process parameter control, and quality inspections in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 2 year technical degree/tech certification or 5 years related experience.
• Experience adjusting process parameters to correct defects in plastic injection molded parts.
• Knowledge of decoupled molding techniques and engineering resins.
• Understanding of machine process control and molding technology.
• Ability to work safely with hand tools and measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Set up and start molds using decoupled/scientific molding practices.
• Inspect molds for correct setup and materials at the press.
• Record process specs and document mold files.
• Control machine parameters to meet part specs and cycle times.
• Troubleshoot molding issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area.
