Paycom in Ottoville, OH is seeking an Engineering Intern to assist the Plastics Engineer on the production floor. You will gain hands-on experience with injection molding, sample new molds, and document recommended processes as part of a project team.

This internship emphasizes scientific molding, process development, and data-driven troubleshooting. You will work with tools, machines, and documentation, supporting audits and continuous improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a technical background in Scientific Molding/decoupled molding and robust process development for manufacturing floors.
• Demonstrates a scientific approach to process development and troubleshooting for new and existing molds.
• Must be self-motivated with ability to think through roadblocks and develop alternate courses to complete tasks.
• Highly organized and methodical in approaching challenges with new tools.

Responsibilities

• Works with process engineer to develop processes for new tools using Scientific Molding Theory and analytical tools where applicable.
• Works with support department to ensure tools, machines and processes are optimized.
• Maintains process documentation and paperwork to support improvements and efficiency.
• Performs process audits to ensure adherence to documented parameters.
• Collaborates with setup technician on tool changes and end-of-arm tooling.
• Uses statistical analysis to identify root causes and troubleshoot daily machine and production issues.
• Adheres to Quality Policy and Core Values of the organization.
• All other duties as assigned.
