Job summary

Bemis Manufacturing Company is seeking an engineer to help optimize injection molding equipment and processes. You’ll collaborate with Engineering to ensure compatibility of molding equipment with processing systems and contribute to improvements across the line.

You will participate in developing maintenance programs, evaluating new technologies, and supporting cost reductions while mentoring technicians and supporting product development teams.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years' engineering or plastic processing experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize resources to complete multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of injection molding equipment, methods, practices and procedures.
• Solid computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop systems and procedures to assure all injection molding equipment and related auxiliary equipment is properly maintained.
• Assist management with capital expenditures and advice for the division.
• Support continuous improvement efforts, especially in processing and equipment to reduce costs and improve quality and efficiencies.
• Assist Product Development and Tooling Engineers in developing new parts and molds to produce cost-effective products efficiently.
• Research, evaluate, specify and order equipment as directed by Management.
• Serve as equipment and process evaluator to assess potential subcontractors.
• Support Training Manager in developing training paths for Setup and Maintenance Technicians.
