Job summary

Alcon is seeking an Injection Mold Tooling Repair Technician for our Houston facility. You will troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild complex molds to minimize downtime, including multi-cavity and hot runner systems.

You will disassemble, inspect, and remachine tooling components to restore capability and extend mold life. You will read and interpret drawings and CAD models, perform PMs, and document work in Maximo CMMS to ensure traceability and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Hands-on experience with injection molds and precision tooling preferred.
• Comfort interpreting drawings, CAD models and mold designs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, service, and repair complex molds to minimize downtime.
• Disassemble, inspect, diagnose, and rebuild tooling components.
• Machine and fit components with toolroom equipment to tight tolerances.
• Analyze issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Interpret drawings, CAD models, and specifications for repairs and improvements.
• Run scheduled preventive maintenance and document work in Maximo CMMS.
• Communicate mold condition, status, and root cause findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve tooling issues quickly.
• Adhere to SOPs and GxP requirements; support continuous improvement initiatives.
