Job summary

M&M Industries is a Chattanooga-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions seeking a Mold Setter to support efficient production by performing mold changes and troubleshooting equipment in our injection molding operations.

The role requires the ability to read technical drawings, operate forklifts or cranes for mold handling, and maintain a clean, safe workspace following 5S principles. Prior mold setter experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Job Description

M&M Industries is a U.S.-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions. We operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, quality, and efficient equipment changeovers are critical to keeping production running smoothly.

The Mold Setter is responsible for setting up and pulling molds in injection molding machines. This role supports efficient production operations by performing mold changes, troubleshooting equipment issues, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Follows safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
• Sets up molds in injection molding machines using a forklift and/or overhead crane
• Adjusts machine settings including temperature, pressure, and cycle time to optimize production
• Perform mold changes efficiently and safely in accordance with established safety guidelines
• Inspects molds for damage or wear and performs in-press maintenance
• Maintains records of mold setup, removal, and maintenance activities
• Saves and recalls programs from the press
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles
• Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong understanding of injection molding processes
• Basic knowledge of mechanical concepts
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent hand-eye coordination

Education

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required

Experience

• Previous experience in a Mold Setter position required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds regularly
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach while performing work
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may be hot or cold
• Ability to wear required PPE at all times (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
