Job summary

Moldtronics, Inc. in Downers Grove, IL seeks an experienced Injection Mold Maker for a hybrid role combining mold building with precision CNC machining.

You will design, build, and maintain plastic injection molds while collaborating with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet strict specifications. The position requires 5+ years of mold making/repair, strong CAD/CAM skills, and hands-on experience with CNC mills, EDMs, and surface grinders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of injection mold making and/or mold repair experience.
• Ability to read and interpret mold designs, blueprints, CAD models, tolerances, and engineering specifications.
• Experience with mills, lathes, surface grinders, and standard Tool Room equipment.
• CNC experience required.
• CAD/CAM experience required.

Responsibilities

• Build and repair plastic injection molds from CAD models, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
• Operate CNC mills, vertical mills, sinker/orbital EDM machines, and surface grinders.
• CNC machine precision parts and components to specification.
• Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings with accuracy.
• Perform quality inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot tooling and part-quality issues with engineering and production teams.
