Job summary

Centerstone Health Services in Indiana seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs, NPs and nurses. You will prepare examination rooms, record vitals, administer injections and vaccines, draw blood, and assist with procedures.

The role emphasizes accurate charting in our EMR, patient communication, and clerical duties. Completion of an accredited MA program is required; CMA certification is preferred. Nursing assistant background is a plus.

• Graduate of accredited Nursing Assistant Program preferred.
• Certification from an Accredited CMA program is required.

Prepares examination rooms. Prepares patients for examinations. Processes charts. Assists Office Professionals with clerical duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESCompletes and records the following types of tasks in the Centerstone Health Services’ EMR:Patient vital signsSpirometry readingsAdministers EKGsAssists with office proceduresAdministers injections and vaccinesDraws and processes blood and lab specimensRenders basic first aid when necessaryEnsures that all data elements are captured in each patient visitAssists physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses with examinations of patients; assist patients.Supplies management (ordering and stocking of examination rooms/clinic area); sterilize instruments; clean examination rooms.Prepares patient information and process related paperwork.Follows guidelines and procedures set by both the Medical Director and the CHS Quality Assurance (QA) Team.Responsible for direct patient communications regarding:Lab resultsFuture appointmentsHospital admissionsReferral appointmentsAble to answer patient questions or direct them to the proper resources whether in person or over the phone.May be called upon to serve on committees, work groups or other bodies as assigned.Performs clerical duties, including filing, as needed.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESEffectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.Ability to assess and chart accurate information by using equipment listed below.Ability to provide basic nursing care.Knowledge of medical field, terminology, and nursing procedures.Clerical skills.QUALIFICATIONSEducation LevelCompletion of an accredited (MA) Medical Assist program.
