About the Role
Accrete, Inc. is seeking a versatile, solutions-oriented attorney to work at the intersection of law, technology, and business. You will lead legal coverage of commercial transactions while also providing legal support across other key areas based on your expertise, interests, and the company's needs. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, this role offers both the autonomy to make a direct impact and the opportunity for .

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Transactions: Structure, draft, review, and negotiate technology contracts, including SaaS subscription, software licensing, and partnership agreements with customers, vendors, resellers and others.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues throughout the company to achieve objectives through optimal mix of benefit and risk/cost.
  • Lead Key Functions: Oversee legal coverage of at least two other areas:
    • Government contracting and procurement
    • Employment and related workplace matters
    • Privacy and data protection
    • Intellectual property
    • Regulatory and other corporate complianceCorporate governance
    • Fundraising
  • Regulatory & Industry Knowledge: Stay up to date on legal and regulatory developments in AI and related fields, providing key insights to the business.
  • Outside Counsel Management: Engage and oversee external legal resources as needed to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Build Legal and Compliance Infrastructure: Enhance legal and compliance processes, including template development, contract lifecycle management, matter management, policy adoption and implementation, and controls.
  • Professional Development: Maintain required licensure and stay current with continuing legal education.

. Required Qualifications:

  • J.D. or LL.M. from a recognized law school
  • Admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • At least five years practicing at a law firm, in house or both
  • Two or more of the following:
    • Very strong commercial transaction negotiation experience, with both small businesses and large enterprise customers;
    • Strong technical/software product experience (engineering background a plus); or
    • At least one year practicing as an in-house lawyer
    • Outstanding academic record, rapid professional advancement or other evidence of exceptional potential.
  • Proficiency in at least two of these areas:
    • U.S. Federal Government contracting and subcontracting
    • Employment matters
    • Privacy, data protection and information security
    • Intellectual property
    • Technology alliance / supply chain / channel partnership transactions;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks on deadline in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solver and consensus-builder
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills,
  • High ethical standards and integrity.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The anticipated base salary range is $170,000 ‒ $220,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. The final offer may vary depending on factors such as skills, experience, and alignment with role requirements
