  • Élaborer et mettre en œuvre des plans d’essai de fiabilité et des procédures d’essai pour les composants et sous-systèmes de communication optique.
  • Participer à l’analyse et aux tests de fiabilité pour identifier les modes de défaillance potentiels et améliorer la performance du produit.
  • Collaborer avec des équipes interfonctionnelles pour concevoir et valider des améliorations de fiabilité dans les produits de réseau optique.
  • Fournir une expertise technique et des conseils sur les principes et les pratiques d’ingénierie de la fiabilité.

Exigences :

  • Baccalauréat en génie électrique, génie optique ou domaine connexe. La maîtrise est un atout.
  • 5+ ans d’expérience en ingénierie de la fiabilité, de préférence dans le domaine des composants et sous-systèmes de communication optique.
  • Maîtrise de la compréhension et de l’application de modèles de fiabilité tels que l’équation d’Arrhenius, la courbe de fiabilité (bathtub curve) et l’équation de Coffin-Manson pour évaluer la fiabilité et la durée de vie des composants et sous-systèmes de communication optique.
  • Expérience dans la réalisation de prédictions et de calculs de fiabilité à l’aide de méthodes statistiques et d’outils logiciels.

How You Will Contribute:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Reliability Engineer to join our team at Ciena. As a Senior Reliability Engineer specializing in optical communication components and sub-systems, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our cutting-edge optical networking products. You will play a critical role in the design, development, and testing of optical communication components and sub-systems to meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

In this role, you will…

  • Develop and implement reliability test plans and test procedures for optical communication components and sub-systems.
  • Participate in reliability analysis and testing to identify potential failure modes and improve product performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and validate reliability improvements in optical networking products.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on reliability engineering principles and practices.

The Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably in the field of optical communication components and sub-systems.
  • Proficiency in understanding and applying reliability models such as Arrhenius equation, Bathtub curve, and Coffin-Manson equation to assess the reliability and lifetime of optical communication components and sub-systems.
  • Experience in conducting reliability predictions and calculations using statistical methods and software tools.
  • Experience with reliability testing methods such as HALT, HASS, HTOL and accelerated life testing.
  • Proficiency in reliability analysis tools and techniques, such as FMEA, FMECA, and fault tree analysis.
  • Strong project management skills to lead reliability engineering projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, product managers, and quality assurance specialists, to drive continuous improvement in product reliability and performance.

Pay Range:

The annual pay range for this position is $91,600 - $146,400.

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
