Job summary

Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester, MN, is seeking a Nursing Infusionist to develop and oversee infusion therapies in collaboration with referring providers and infusion staff. This role focuses on planning, monitoring, and administering infusion treatments with emphasis on patient education and outcome optimization.

The position requires RN licensure in Minnesota, BLS/ACLS certification, and IV therapy experience; CRNI is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Current Minnesota registered nurse (RN) license.
• Current BLS/ACLS certification.
• Experience and comfort with initiating intravenous (IV) catheters and administering IV medications.
• Certified Registered Nurse Infusionist (CRNI) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and coordinates infusion plans with referring providers and infusion staff.
• Follows best clinical practice guidelines, order sets, protocols, and quality measures.
• Coordinates infusion services with laboratory, radiology, pathology, surgical, and social services.
• Develops patient care plans with emphasis on education to ensure understanding and positive outcomes.
• Performs pre-infusion chart reviews to determine eligibility and REMS medication authorization.
• Provides assistance to other departments regarding IVs, infusions, and protocols.
• Learn and maintain venous access catheters with large-bore needles and extended dwell times.
• Other duties as assigned.
