Job summary

UChicago Medicine in the Chicagoland area is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Infusion Therapy clinic. This 1.0 FTE, on-site role involves supporting patient care under the supervision of a RN/APN/Physician, performing phlebotomy, vital signs, and assisting with exams and procedures.

The incumbent will collect specimens, document care, and help with patient transport and instrument preparation. CPR and CMA credentials are required within 6 months of hire, with a strong patient-centered care

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Graduate of CMA certification program.
• Phlebotomy training completed.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care as assigned by RN or physician.
• Obtains and records vital signs.
• Assists with patient examinations or diagnostic procedures.
• Performs phlebotomy services.
• Documents all aspects of patient care per hospital policies.
• Assists with specimen collection and labeling.
• Administers medications as ordered by physician or APN.
• Transports and assists patients in wheelchairs or stretchers.
