Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing.
• Current state RN licensure.
• BLS preferred; ACLS acceptable in lieu of BLS prior to direct patient care.
• ONS Oncology Nursing Society chemotherapy certification within 6 months of hire.
• One year of medical/surgical or oncology experience preferred.
• EPIC EHR training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts and analyzes initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates plan of care, implements treatments and evaluates treatment effectiveness.
• Restores, supports, promotes, rehabilitates, or palliates to maintain the physiologic and psychosocial stability of patients across the lifespan.
• Administers chemotherapy and other medications, starts IVs, transfuses blood products and performs therapeutic phlebotomies.
• Anticipates and responds with confidence and adapts to rapidly changing patient conditions.
• Assists in creating an environment that promotes educational growth opportunities for nursing peers.
• Other duties as assigned.
