Job summary

Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa seeks an empathetic Infusion RN to join the Rheumatology Infusion team in a full- or part-time role. You will administer IV therapies, monitor patients, and ensure safety during infusions, with emphasis on high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include preparing medications, venipuncture, charting results, and supporting test results coordination. A current RN license is required; BLS within 60 days; EMR proficiency is essential.

Infusion RN – Department of Rheumatology

Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa is currently seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Rheumatology Infusion team in a full-time or part-time position available. The Infusion Nurse will provide high-quality, patient-centered care while ensuring the safe administration of infusion medications.

Primary duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

Clinic Duties include:

• Assisting with procedures
• Preparing and administering injections
• Following up on and recording test results
• Completing prior authorizations for treatments and diagnostic testing
• Screening calls for physicians and answering patient questions

Infusion Duties include:

• Performing initial and ongoing patient assessments prior to and during each infusion to ensure patients are free of infection, adverse reactions, or other complications
• Performing venipuncture using aseptic technique and maintaining sterility of the closed IV system
• Educating patients on IV therapy and the infusion process
• Preparing IV medications according to drug reconstitution protocols
• Administering medications per manufacturer guidelines
• Assisting with clinical drug study infusions as needed

Qualifications:

• Current RN license is required.
• Experience providing infusion treatment, preferred.
• BLS required or must obtain within the first 60 days of employment.
• Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems.
• Strong Commitment to patient care and teamwork.
• Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.
• Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
