Job summary

Physicians' Clinic of Iowa in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking an Infusion RN for the Department of Rheumatology. The role is a regular full-time or part-time position delivering infusion care in a high-volume practice, with no nights or weekends and a comprehensive benefits package.

The Infusion RN will perform patient assessments, administer IV therapies, educate patients, and document test results. Candidates should hold an RN license, have EMR proficiency, and commit to safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Current RN license is required.
• Experience providing infusion treatment, preferred.
• BLS required or must obtain within the first 60 days of employment.
• Proficiency in EMR and related computer systems.
• Strong commitment to patient care and teamwork.
• Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.
• Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with procedures.
• Prepare and administer injections.
• Follow up on and record test results.
• Complete prior authorizations for treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Screen calls for physicians and answer patient questions.
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments before and during each infusion.
• Perform venipuncture using aseptic technique and maintain sterility of IV system.
• Educate patients on IV therapy and the infusion process.
• Prepare IV medications according to drug reconstitution protocols.
• Administer medications per manufacturer guidelines.
• Assist with clinical drug study infusions as needed.

At Physicians' Clinic of Iowa, we are focused on delivering quality patient care. Our Rheumatology Department is currently seeking a full-time or part-timeInfusion RNto deliver care that is second to none in our high volume-fast paced practice.

Primary duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

Clinic Duties include:

• Assisting with procedures
• Preparing and administering injections
• Following up on and recording test results
• Completing prior authorizations for treatments and diagnostic testing
• Screening calls for physicians and answering patient questions

Infusion Duties include:

• Performing initial and ongoing patient assessments prior to and during each infusion to ensure patients are free of infection, adverse reactions, or other complications
• Performing venipuncture using aseptic technique and maintaining sterility of the closed IV system
• Educating patients on IV therapy and the infusion process
• Preparing IV medications according to drug reconstitution protocols
• Administering medications per manufacturer guidelines
• Assisting with clinical drug study infusions as needed
