Job summary

Mile Bluff Medical Center seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for Infusion to provide specialized nursing care to patients receiving IV and injectable therapies, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy. You will monitor patients, adjust treatments, and educate patients and families throughout the treatment process.

Qualifications

• Active WI RN license; compact licensure requires WI license within 90 days.
• BSN preferred.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire.
• ACLS required or obtained within 1 year of hire.
• ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition before, during, and after treatments.
• Review medical history, labs, and treatment orders.
• Monitor vital signs and patient response during treatment.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other IV/injectable meds.
• Access and manage ports, PICC lines, and central lines.
• Follow protocols for hazardous drug handling.
• Ensure correct dosage calculations and infusion rates.
• Monitor for adverse reactions and manage complications.
• Provide emergency interventions when needed.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and side effects.
• Instruct on infection prevention and self-care during treatment.
• Support patients emotionally throughout therapy.
• Collaborate with providers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Communicate concerns to providers.
• Document treatment and responses in EMR.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and clinic policies.
• Perform other duties as requested.
