Job summary

Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in New York, NY is seeking an Infusion RN to join our team. This role requires nursing licensure in New York, BLS, and IV therapy proficiency. The position operates on 10-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM and supports infusion services within a fast-paced care environment.

The RN will perform assessments, manage IV access, monitor patient responses, educate families, and collaborate with physicians and pharmacists to ensure high-quality care. Union: NYSNA.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Current NYS RN license with BLS; IV and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Administer IV medications and infusion therapies per physician orders.
• Perform or monitor patient assessments before, during, and after infusion therapy.
• Initiate and manage IV access devices including PICC lines and CVADs.
• Monitor for adverse reactions and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Document accurately in EMR and coordinate with the care team.

Infusion RN

8am-6:30pm

10 hours shifts X4

• Administer IV medications (antibiotics, Diuretics), blood products, hydration therapy, and other infusion treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
• Perform patient assessments before, during, and after infusion therapy.
• Initiate, access, maintain, and discontinue peripheral IVs, PICC lines, ports, and central venous catheters.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately to emergencies.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and department performance goals.
• Maintain inventory and ensure proper handling and storage of medications and supplies.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Licensure & Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
• Current BLS certification required.
• IV Certification
• ACLS certification preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care, infusion, ambulatory care, or related nursing experience preferred.
• Experience with IV therapy, vascular access devices, and infusion treatments preferred.

• Strong IV insertion and vascular access skills.
• Knowledge of infusion medications, therapies, and adverse reaction management.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and patient education skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to provide direct patient care for extended periods.
