Job summary

MUSC is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Manager to join the infusion team, overseeing pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the prior authorization of infusion and clinic medications. The role includes evaluating requests in Epic, ensuring guideline adherence, and coordinating with healthcare providers and payers to streamline the prior authorization process.

The position is onsite and requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 7 years of progressive experience and 2 years in management,

Qualifications

• 7 years progressive work experience in pharmacy operations
• 2 years management experience required
• State licensure as a pharmacist required
• Current BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Direct oversight of pharmacists and certified pharmacy technicians; train and validate team's skills to complete prior authorization
• Review and evaluate medication requests in Epic for guideline compliance
• Collaborate with providers, payers and pharmacy teams to facilitate prior authorization
• Communicate with patients and healthcare professionals to gather information for prior authorization
• Make informed decisions based on clinical knowledge and prior authorization criteria
